Hi, I’m Jackie, an integrative counsellor combining different skills and techniques to help you explore who you are and understand why you feel and behave as you do. Your thoughts and emotions are shaped by how you perceive yourself, others and the world around you. My aim is to help you expand your self-awareness by identifying the beliefs, values and experiences that impact your state of mind and overall wellbeing. I’ll support you in developing cognitive and somatic (body-based) strategies so that you feel more regulated, in control and, ultimately, resilient.
I believe being able to talk freely can be liberating, bringing clarity as well as relief from the weight of unwanted burdens. I offer a space for you to explore what has shaped you, your sense of identity and your needs, and I invite your curiosity in taking charge of how you really want to live.
As a trauma-informed therapist, I am experienced in a variety of body-based and cognitive approaches, including Internal Family Systems therapy, Compassionate Inquiry, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness, CBT, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis. I’ll help you understand how memories and emotions are held within your body and affect your physical and mental wellbeing, so you can master self-regulation and connect with your sense of self.
I also have a growing interest and experience in working with neurodivergent people. I am passionate about enabling individuals to understand and value their unique brain wiring, and to uncover strategies that foster self-compassion, resilience and wellbeing. Together we can explore limiting beliefs, learn to identify and communicate needs, and develop strategies for self-support so you can flourish and enjoy life more.
I use she/her as my pronouns and welcome all cultures and identities across a broad range of issues, working with all ages from young adults age 16+ through to older adults. I am open and sensitive to LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent issues.
