Hi, I’m Helen. I’m a Chartered Child and Educational Psychologist with 25 years of experience supporting children, young people, and families. I have experience in a range of contexts and settings, including schools, the NHS, and privately funded work.
I specialise in therapeutic work with children and families who are navigating the impact of trauma or disrupted attachment. Families tell me they value the calm, thoughtful way I work and the sense of partnership we build together. Whether we’re exploring parenting strategies together, strengthening your relationship with your child, or helping you feel more confident in responding to their needs, I see our work as a collaborative journey.
I also work directly with children and young people, offering focused therapeutic support for challenges such as anxiety, overwhelming emotions, difficulties at school, and low mood.
My approach is integrative and flexible. I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Theraplay, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These approaches form the foundation of my therapeutic work. Where appropriate, I also draw on elements from other evidence-based models such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Internal Family Systems-informed work.
My aim is always to create a space where children and young people feel seen and supported, and where parents feel empowered and hopeful. Whatever you and your child is facing, we’ll work together to find a way forward – one that feels safe, collaborative, and grounded in what matters most to your family.
I work primarily in Leicestershire, offering sessions in schools and home settings. I am also available for online therapy.
