Hi, I’m Charlie. I qualified with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Warwick in 2008. I have over 20 years’ experience working in mental health across community, in-patient and social care settings. My therapeutic style is to work flexibly, utilising philosophies and strategies informed by multiple models. After we have met and completed an initial assessment, a treatment plan will be developed with you, based on a collaborative understanding of your needs.
I work with adolescents and adults who have common mental health problems including anxiety, OCD, depression and PTSD. Areas of special interest and expertise include complex trauma, OCD and adjustment difficulties. I am an EMDR UK accredited EMDR practitioner and have undertaken further specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Most recently, I have completed Inference based CBT for OCD (March 2026) and Trauma Focussed ACT training (May 2026). Over the years I have become increasingly interested in how to we can heal through our bodies, and I integrate somatic practices into my work, where the client agrees this could be helpful.
Other areas of special interest include supporting clinical teams and systems working with complexity. I really enjoy delivering training and offering reflective practice to clinical teams. I’m also passionate about providing clinical supervision to other mental health professionals. I am a qualified coach who can work with individuals to enhance their excellence at work, personal development or quality of life.
I am a keen researcher, with a special interest in trauma informed mental and sexual health. My most recent publication was in 2026 and focussed on improving trauma informed sexual health assessments for adolescent psychiatric inpatients.
I’m a compassionate and dedicated psychologist who can provide a safe space for individuals to explore themselves, make changes and feel confident to move forwards with their lives. I am currently offering online and in person sessions in Northamptonshire.
